Biodiversity monitoring in DR Congo

In 2017 and 2020, about 100 scientists and policy makers in DR Congo, reflected together on how to promote effective and relevant biodiversity monitoring for management and decision-making. These discussions, held within the framework of the MRV (Measuring, Reporting and Verification) approach to strengthen biodiversity monitoring and national reporting in Belgium’s partner countries, were summarized in the following document.
En 2017 et 2020, une centaine de scientifiques et de décideurs politiques en RD Congo ont réfléchi ensemble à la manière de promouvoir un suivi efficace et pertinent de la biodiversité pour la gestion et la prise de décision. Ces discussions, tenues dans le cadre de l’approche MRV (Measuring, Reporting and Verification) visant à renforcer le suivi de la biodiversité et les rapports nationaux dans les pays partenaires de la Belgique, ont été résumées dans le document suivant.
