Capacity development
Through its various capacity development activities, CEBioS aims at improving the capacities of individuals and institutions in partner countries of the Belgian Development Cooperation, engaged in studying, managing and conserving biodiversity and ecosystems to help meet their local and national objectives to commit to the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and other biodiversity-related conventions.
Being an internationally recognized centre of scientific expertise in the field of biodiversity and ecosystem research and monitoring, the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS), with its CEBioS programme, has accumulated valuable know-how that can be beneficial to countries willing to reinforce their knowledge and skills. This expertise, linked with the one from associated institutions, is made accessible to individuals and institutions of developing countries via the CEBioS programme in a demand-driven way.
