La délégation CEBioS est arrivée vendredi 13 au soir à Kinshasa, RDC. Elle est constituée de Tania D’haijère, Thomas Wouters et Luc Janssens de Bisthoven. Ils ont commencé par deux jours de voyage pour arriver à Muanda, Congo Central, en compagnie de Chantal Shalukoma, directrice a la recherche de l’Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature, ICCN . Ce voyage à permi de visiter le jardin botanique de Kisantu. Pendant 3 jours, ils ont participé au comité scientifique du Parc Marin des Mangroves, invités par l’ICCN et ULB – Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB-Coopération), avec qui un MoU tripartite a été signé cette année. Le retour à Kinshasa a également été effectué en deux jours, après une visite des mangroves et des villages vivant des ressources naturelles de ces dernières.
La délégation s’est également arrêtée dans la réserve de Luki, ou elle a été reçue par l’@ERAIFT RDC. De retour à Kinshasa, samedi 21 juin, une rencontre avec l’ambassade de Belgique a eu lieu, et une rencontre avec la coopération suédoise egalement.
Du lundi au mercredi, un atelier organisé par le Centre de Surveillance de la Biodiversité (CSB) de Kisangani a reçu l’appui de CEBioS. Celui-ci redynamise les liens entre le CSB et ses antennes dans les provinces. La délégation a également rencontré le DG de l’ICCN, l’@UNESCO et la Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ,German International Cooperation).

The CEBioS delegation arrived in Kinshasa, DRC, on Friday evening, 13th. It consists of Tania D’haijère, Thomas Wouters and Luc Janssens de Bisthoven. They began with a two-day journey to Muanda, Central Congo, accompanied by Chantal Shalukoma, Director of Research at the Congolese Institute for Nature Conservation (ICCN). This trip enabled them to visit the Kisantu Botanical Garden. For three days, they participated in the scientific committee of the Mangrove Marine Park, invited by the ICCN and ULB – Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB-Coopération), with whom a tripartite MoU was signed this year. The return to Kinshasa also took two days, after a visit to the mangroves and the villages that live off their natural resources.
The delegation also stopped at the Luki reserve, where they were welcomed by @ERAIFT DRC. Back in Kinshasa on Saturday 21 June, a meeting was held with the Belgian Embassy, followed by a meeting with the Swedish cooperation agency.
From Monday to Wednesday, a workshop organised by the Biodiversity Monitoring Centre (CSB) in Kisangani was supported by CEBioS. This is revitalising links between the CSB and its branches in the provinces. The delegation also met with the Director General of the ICCN, @UNESCO and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ, German International Cooperation).
